This paper proposes a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for co-allocating tasks among multi-vehicles. Firstly, by taking consideration of the vehicle carrying-capacity and range constraints, the mathematical model for the problem of multi-vehicle task assignment is presented. Secondly, the continuous position attribute of a particle is analyzed and a task assignment vector for each particle is developed. The corresponding task assignment solution can be extracted from the task assignment vector, achieving the objective of discretizing the continuous solution of PSO algorithm. Finally, based on PSO, a multi-vehicle collaborative task allocation algorithm is developed, and its effectiveness is verified by a digital simulation experiment.
