In order to improve reliability of fuze explosive trains, two fuze explosive trains with different structures were designed. A non-linear finite element analysis software AUTODYN was applied to perform the numerical simulation of reliability of these two explosive trains, illustrating that the second design can improve reliability of the detonation transmission, shrink the time of detonation wave steering and loosen the requirement of the charge gap. The reliability experiments of these two explosive train designs were performed under low temperature, room temperature and high temperature conditions. Compared with the explosive rate 87% of the first design, the second design has a 13% higher detonation transmission reliability of 100%. The research provides guidance and reference for the product engineering design.
