Limit Perforation Velocity Analysis of Armor-piercing High-explosive ProjectilePenetrating Reinforced Concrete

Since limit perforation velocity of armor-piercing high-explosive projectile penetrating reinforced concrete with limited thickness cannot be obtained accurately by target range test, and on the basis of analysis of destruction characteristics of reinforced concrete, the penetration progress of different point of impact was simulated. By comparison between test and simulation results, the limit perforation velocity of armor-piercing high-explosive projectile penetrating 300 mm reinforced concrete is 250 m/s. In addition, it is accurate and reliable to use ACE formula to estimate the limit perforation velocity of reinforced concrete with limited thickness, which can be used for engineering application.
