In order to improve quality of service (QoS) of military communication network, a priority queue scheduling algorithm based on buffer management was proposed, and the packet classifier, queue management component and scheduling component were designed. According to requirement, packets were divided into some priority levels, and were managed and scheduled in accordance with priority. A RED-based congestion control dynamic algorithm was proposed. This algorithm can dynamically detect the state of congestion, feed-back congestion information and control congestion. Two algorithms were implemented by programming codes. The simulation experiment results show that this mechanism can meet requirements of military communication network and improve its QoS.
