A method of far field bistatic radar cross-section (RCS) calculation method was studied to estimate the near field bistatic RCS of complex targets in this paper. Under the near field conditions, the incident wave is a spherical wave, so the far field conditions can not be satisfied. Therefore, it is assumed that the complex targets have been decomposed into a number of smaller polygon facets, each of which can meet the farfield conditions. Then,each facet's bistatic RCS can be solved using physical optic (PO) and the incremental length diffraction coefficient (ILDC). Considering the influence of antenna pattern factor on the near field scattering, total near field RCS of complex targets can be obtained. This method has been proved to be efficient in estimating the complex target's near field bistatic RCS.
