In order to reduce the lateral force by controlling the asymmetric vortexes, the effect of strakes on the forebody was investigated. The flow over very low aspect ration wing-body configuration with/without forebody strakes was simulated using finite volume method. The free Mach number was 0.8, and the Reynolds number was 2.36×105. The results indicate that the side force is reduced by forebody strakes; the drag force and the normal force are insensitive to the forebody strakes.
