As for requirement for high time efficiency of cruise missile's path planning, an improved A* algorithm was put forward. Considering the main time-consuming part in A* algorithm, the mark insert sorting method of OPEN list based on double chain linear list was presented. Considering the restrictions of missile flight, an efficient 3D space node expanding method was adopted. Simulation results show that the improved A algorithm can greatly improve path planning speed without changing the path planning result.
