In order to develop a stealth projectile to antagonism hostel side artillery fire finder radar, the principle and structure of a radar stealth projectile are researched. Using improved surface and shape, a projectile get shape stealth. Narrow band radar absorbing materials for S-wave-band and X-wave-band are developed. As narrow band materials are coated on projectiles surface, the projectiles get material stealth. The radar cross section and performance of the stealth projectile are measured. The experiment result shows that, compared with traditional explosive bomb, the stealth projectile radar cross section is decreased explicitly, the distance of being find by radar is very shorter. The projectiles have gotten stealth performance significantly.
