Deceleration Characteristics Analysis for Projectile Impacting Porous Plate Based on an Active Protection

In order to analyze the deceleration characteristics of a projectile impacting the porous plate, the numerical simulation software LS-DYNA is used to simulate different projectiles impacting porous plate with different parameters to get the acceleration graphs of the projectile. The results indicate that the maximum acceleration of the projectile would increases with increasing of the impact velocity, the diameter of the rebar and the ratio of the diameter of the projectile to the hole; and the acceleration would decreases with increasing of the mass of the projectile. With the target angle increasing from 0 degree to 40 degrees, the maximum acceleration of the projectile decreases firstly and then increases. The experimental results of explosion induced by projectiles at different velocity on the porous plate are consistent with the simulation results. And this verifies the correctness of the simulation model and provides reference for the design of this kind of active protection system.
