An underwater acoustic-proximity fuze was introduced. It is compatible with the munitions system designed for interrupting and destroying underwater target such as torpedo. During design, there were some technology problems, for example, target identification technology, valid method of measuring sound travel distance and the technology of overload-proof. To distinguish and identify target, several methods were adopted, including testing and identifying sound signal energy variety by the underwater target, comparing with energy change, in addition, through frequency of different line spectrum emitted by different target, etc. The simulation test results show that this fuze can identify different target and give out initiation signal.
