To improve battlefield survival probability of tanks and armored vehicles, a kind of airbag inflatable profiling decoy was put forward. The simplified airbag-decoy inflation process was simulated by the control volume method based on the finite element analysis software LS-DYNA. The airbag shape, pressure and temperature changes were obtained during the opening process; the heat radiation characteristics of the airbag were analyzed, the spectral radiant existance of the airbag at different temperature and the atmospheric attenuation of radiant intensity contrast curves in 3 to 5 µm and 8 to 14 µm bands were gained. The results would have a certain reference value for the design of profiling decoy.
