In order to solve the problems of the structure layout of the balance on the model and the difficulty of the small scale design in the split design, the integrated design of the balance and model is adopted. Based on the virtual calibration software platform, the optimization is performed on balance with the sensitivity output and the interference between the components. By locally slitting or grooving on the balance, the stiffness distribution of the balance structure is adjusted to achieve the purpose of reducing the interference from the components. The results of calibration and wind tunnel test shows that the integrated five-component hinge moment balance has been successfully developed, which provides a new idea and reference for the balance design under small-scale model conditions.
