At present, there is a lack of approach to build an objective and quantifiable performance evaluation index system in the scheme or prototype bidding of the seeker. This paper proposes a method to build the performance evaluation index system of the seeker by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP),and elaborated the analysis, calculation and index system building process of this approach by taking a type of strapdown laser seeker as an example. Through this paper, a quantifiable, reasonable and objective index system for the performance evaluation of the seeker can be set up by using this approach. Meanwhile, the subsequent bidding can also be guided by this index system. Consequently, quantitatively comparable index system can be established for the performance evaluation of the variety seekers by using this approach.
