The Simulation of the Process of ERA Interfering with Shaped Charge Jet

By applying dynamic soft 3-D LS-DYNA, the shaped charge jet with its penetration into explosive reactive armor(ERA) and the moving process of flying panel were simulated. Compare its results with experiment, the moving and deformation process of flying panel shows good consistency. The simulation results also show in oblique interaction, the moving plate can cut the shaped charge jet and deflect the subsequent jet. The jet deflection velocity shows good agreement between the simulation and "pumper model".
