Abstract

The calibrated Radar Cross Section (RCS) of the 9 mm bullet model is measured by using a commercial low-cost millimeter wave frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system in 77~81 GHz frequency range. The calibrated RCS can be obtained by measuring the variation aspect angle, and compared with the simulation results which shows fair matching between these two. The feasibility is proved that a commercial low-cost systems can be used in measuring RCS in 77~81 GHz frequency range. The study reveals that the low-size objects can be measured by low-coat radar systems.
