Aiming at the problem of warship fire control system tracking of anti-ship missile with high speed and maneuver, a new method for the variable structure multiple model (VSMM) algorithm using the radial velocity was presented for radar awareness system, which can detect target radial velocity and target angular velocity. A simulation about the Kalman filtering was put forward by this thesis and the traditional Kalman filtering in ideal anti-ship missile flight path was given. The simulation result shows that by introducing velocity, the capacity of VSMM algorithm and the stability of maneuver detection can be improved; the retardation time can be cut down. The new Kalman filtering has some value for project practice.
