Multi-source terminal missile-based image can use multi-sensor image information to generate fusion image with rich details and clear target, improve the recognition rate of subsequent target detection, and the target detection of image can provide target guidance for subsequent precision attack. Based on the project, this paper summarizes the research and development status of multi-source image fusion and target detection at home and abroad, and analyzes the classical image fusion method target detection theoretical framework. Then the existing missile-based image fusion method and target detection method were analyzed. Finally the future research space and development trend were prospected.
