Analysis of Drag Reduction on Super-cavitation Projectile Based on 6DOF

In order to study cavity shape and drag reducible characteristics of supercavitation projectile movement, based on mixture model of a single-fluid with variable density and Rayleigh-Plesset equation and 6DOF dynamic mesh technology, According to software FLUENT14.0, cone cavitation of projectile numerical was studied. Cavity formation and collapse process in movement, ballistic projectile and projectile velocity and attenuation under full wet contrast were analyzed. The results show that with movement of projectile, the cavity after projectile breaking, the projectile tends to be rising, the projectile deceleration decreases. Compared with full wet, supercavitation drag reduction rate gets up to 70.1%. The results provide certain theoretical basis for researching dynamic supercavitation.
