Analysis on Annular Nozzle Efficiency of a Certain Booster

The flow fields of a annular nozzle were calculated by finite volume method based on 2-D Reynolds average Naiver-Stokes equation and standard K-8 turbulence model. The effects of angle and length of center body on nozzle efficiency were analyzed. The results show that the thrust coefficient and nozzle efficiency can be improved with increase of center body angle. The thrust coefficient is also can be enhanced by increasing the length of center body, but it fluctuation is in a certain region. The fluctuation is dependent on the angle of center body. The conclusion is helpful for annular nozzle design.
