Based on the test data of rhombic fragment penetrating gelatin, combined with the existing empirical formula of spherical fragment penetrating gelatin, the process of rhombic fragment penetrating gelatin is studied using the simulation method from the aspects of attitude angle and speed. The rule of rhombic fragment rolling in gelatin is summarized and the empirical formula of rhombic fragment penetrating gelatin is obtained. The results show that the empirical formula are in good agreement with simulation and experiment results, and the relative error of penetration depth is less than 15%. The empirical formula can provide reference for the rhombic fragment structure design and rapid calculation of rhombic fragment penetrating gelatin depth.
