Link Quality-based Energy-efficient Anycast Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

For wireless sensor networks (WSNs) with low duty cycle (DC), link quality-based energy-efficient anycast routing (LQAR) is proposed in this paper. In LQAR, both the success rate of receiving packets and distance are used to estimate the link quality. Then link quality and energy consumption rate of node are combined to calculate the weight that node is selected to join in candidate anycast node set. Finally, according to the cost of energy consumption, the node anycast set is constructed. Simulation results show that LQAR protocol reduce the energy consumption by 25% compared with ORW. At same time, packet delivery rate of LQAR protocol is up to 99%.
