Spin-rate Measurement of Terminal Homing Projectile Based on Micro-Doppler Analysis

Abstract

In order to solve the spin-rate measurement problem of the terminal homing projectile, a new method based on micro-Doppler analysis is put forward. Through analyzing the micro-Doppler effect caused by the N wings, multi scatter centers echo model is established. After time-frequency analyzing, the maxim (minim) velocity at every time makes new data. The rotation period is N times of the sequence period. Measure the time of fix periods of the new sequence, then the spin-rate can be calculated. The results show that the outcome of processing the real data accords with the design value.
