A Genetic Algorithm Based Method for Composite Propellant Constitutive Parameter

Accurate linear viscoelastic constitutive parameters are foundation of propellant grain structural integrity analysis. Based on genetic algorithm, uniaxial relaxation modulus and bulk relaxation modulus acquisition methods were presented. The uniaxial relaxation modulus of HTPB propellant was obtained by experiment. Compared with traditional method, it is indicated that the relaxation modulus determined by genetic algorithm method is more accurate, and the presented method overcomes shortage of being inaccurate in traditional approach. The applicability of linear viscoelastic constitutive model for HTPB propellant was discussed, and the application range was determined. The proposed bulk relaxation modulus measurement method has no significant equipment requirement, and is easy to implement.
