Application of Vertical Wind Tunnel in Developing Sensor Fused Munitions

This paper focuses onexperiment method, image collection and processing for measuring dynamic parameters of model of sensor fused munitions with parachute in vertical wind tunnel. The video measurement technology was used to measure scanning angle and spin rate of two different sensor fused munitions. The measurement result shows that the measured dynamic parameters of model of sensor fused munitions are identical with that achieved in field test. In certain degree, the method can satisfy the scanning angle and spin rate test requirements of sensor fused munitions. In addition, if the spin curve possesses a stable periodic change, the sensor fused munitions with parachute will possess better spin stability.
