Abstract

To improve the performance of active protection systems (APS), RPG-7 anti-tank rocket warheads were selected as an example, damage modes under directed fragment field were analyzed, and experimental verification under typical condition was carried on. Damage modes include warhead structure breakup, fuze dud, and charge explosion, performance degradation due to charge and liner injured were verified by experiments. The study results may be used for the optimization of interception conditions and parameters of fragment field.
