Effect of Unsteady Temperature Field on Performance of Long Fiber Coil at Startup

For the effect of unsteady temperature field on the performance of fiber coil during the startup process of fiber optic gyroscope inertial navigation device, the thermal drift error model based on the quadrupole winding is established in this paper. The influence of Shupe effect and thermal stress in the slowly varying temperature field is analyzed theoretically. The relationship between the number of turns per layer and the thermal stress in the fiber coil is discussed. A simple and efficient experimental method for temperature performance evaluation of fiber coil is proposed. The experimental results show that this method has a good accuracy.
