Energy Efficiency Awareness-based Unmanned Aerial Vehicles-assisted Video Data Transmission

With the help of relay UAV(R-UAV), video data collected by UAVs can be transmitted to ground node, thus avoiding the UAVs directly transmit their video data to ground node. However, as the number of transmitting UAVs increases, the number of UAVs affected by interference of other UAVs increases. Combined with limited energy storage capabilities of UAV batteries, the transmission power control and optimization of position of the relay UAV-based energy efficiency of disturbed UAV (TOEE) algorithm is proposed in this paper. TOEE algorithm controls the transmitted power of the UAV in order to suppress interference among UAVs. On the other hand, the energy utilization efficiency of the UAV can be further improved by optimizing the position of the R-UAV. Simulation results show that the power control and the optimization of R-UAV position can effectively improve the energy efficiency of disturbed UAVs.
