Cold Pressurization Test and Numerical Simulation of Solid Rocket Motor

A set of cold gas pressurization testing system was designed to research the effect of solid rocket motor ignition process on the grain structural integrity. The system was used to carry out cold gas pressurization test of simulated rocket motor, the pressure variation curve of grain was obtained. Meanwhile, the computer software was used to simulate the flow field of the cold gas pressurization process, then the numerical simulation of the test column was carried out, and the results of the test are in good agreement with that of simulation by comparing. The results show that when the pressure peak of the grain is coming, the grain strain is the largest, which indicates that the pressure peak produced by the ignition of solid rocket motor is an important reason that affects the integrity of charge structure.
