Design of High Gain Double Ridged Horn Antenna Loaded with Dielectric Lens

For the application of UWB antenna, a dual ridged horn antenna (DRHA) operating in 1~18 GHz is designed. The pattern of DRHA is not split in the full frequency band, which can meet higher engineering requirements. At the same time, in order to improve the radiation characteristics of DRHA, a 3D printed tapered all-dielectric lens was designed. After loading a dielectric lens, the measured gain of the antenna in the frequency band from 1 to 18 GHz increases by 1 to 7 dBi, and the beam width of 3 dB decreases.In addition, the gain in the 4~18 GHz band increased steadily.The DRHA with dielectric lens is designed and measured, and the measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results.
