Transient Heat Transfer Simulation and Experimental Investigation of the Aft Dome with Two Inclined and Scarfed Nozzles in SRM

Abstract

The flow and heat transfer in the aft dome with two inclined and scarfed nozzles are complex, the heat insulation effect is directly related to normal operation of the engine.Here, three-dimensional flow field and heat transfer simulation of the aft dome with two inclined and scarfed nozzles is carried out by numerical simulation, and experimental research is carried out. The results show that three-dimensional unsteady flow flield model can simulate the heat tranfer process of the aft dome with an error of less than 4%. The design of circuitous grooves at the mating surface of the adiabatic structure is effective, but the mating gap between the components should be strictly controlled.
