A Simplified Approach for Designing a Stable Loop for Missile with Relaxed Static Stability

Relaxed static stability is a new concept in missile design, and it is a new way to raise the flying speed, distance and maneuverability for missile. The definition of RSS missile and its advantage were described. A simplified method for designing a stable loop for the RSS missile autopilot was developed. The simulation results of feature points on its trajectory shows that this approach offers satisfactory control system performance, so it suits for RSS missile autopilot design.
