Algorithm for the Optimal Exploding Height of Maneuvering Reentry Large-scale Blast-fragmentation Warhead

Abstract

Aiming at maximizing the lethal area of maneuvering reentry large-scale blast-fragmentation warhead, by building the distribution and motion model of fragment, based on the statistics of the fragment flight trajectory, the fragment’s terminal state and distributing area of different exploding height was obtained, the height of the largest lethal area was the optimal exploding height. Calculation shows in different trajectory conditions there is optimal exploding height for the largest lethal area; as the speed and attitude angle increase, the largest lethal area and its corresponding optimal exploding height increase.
