Research on the Stability of Motion in the Chamber of Hyper Velocity Projectile of Electromagnetic Rail Gun

The effects of skin effect, air resistance in chamber and high-speed sliding friction resistance between armature and rails on the motion stability of hyper velocity projectile in electromagnetic rail gun were analyzed. The dynamic equation of the electromagnetic rail guns system and the Lyapunov motion stability analysis model was established. The basic motion characteristics of the projectile chamber were obtained through simulation, and the influence of different resistance gradients and friction coefficients on the velocity and displacement of the projectile were analyzed. The results show that the effect of skin effect on the stability of projectile motion in the chamber is more obvious. It should be considered seriously during projectile and gun to design.
