Analysis of the Penetration Effect of Tungsten Spherical Fragments on Armored Components Based on Similarity Theory

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of high cost and high risk in the field damage test of fragmented warhead, which does not consider the influence of fragments’ deformation and attitude on the damage effect of fragmented warhead components, and the problem of high cost and high risk in the field damage test under the actual environment, an analysis model of the damage effect of tungsten sphere fragments on components is constructed by using similarity theory, and the numerical simulation is carried out by AUTODYN software. The results show that the damage probability obtained by considering the incident angle and other factors is smaller than that by traditional methods, which has a strong guiding significance for the study of the damage law of equipment components.
