Research on Damage Effect of Hypervelocity-KE Rod to the Earth

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to put forward the test methods which are used to characterize the damage effect of the hypervelocity-KE rod to the earth. The measures are that according to the numerical simulation results, the damage effect and their characterization parameters are carried out when the hypervelocity-KE rod impacts the earth. And then the test methods for these characterization parameters are brought forward one by one in theory. By the test methods, the data from the damage effect of the 100 kg hypervelocity-KE rod to the earth are gained and convinced. The test method in this paper could be one of the effective test methods to research the damage effects from the KE weapon.
