The Effect of Strake on Aerodynamic Performance at High Angle of Attack for Missile

Numerical simulation method based on solving Euler equations was verified to be effective by agreement between computation and experimental measurement, and then this was used to investigate the effect of long strake on aerodynamic performances for missile at high angle of attack. The results show that strake affects normal force and longitudinal aerodynamic center of missile at high angle of attack slightly. Meanwhile, the yawning moment property and roll moment property are improved at low supersonic speed when missile is at asymmetric attitude. The application of strake can effectively enhance roll stability of missile at high angle of attack.
