Calibration Techniques for Wind Tunnel Airfoil Balance

Abstract

The design of a calibration rig and the static calibration process of a multi-component airfoil force measurement balance were presented. Static calibration techniques such as precise locating and loading, force transmission, loading process, data analysis and precision calculation were discussed in detail. Decel single and multi-component loading process and data analysis methods were proposed. It is demonstrated that the balance equation obtained by the present calibration can satisfy the reliability and precision requirements of wind tunnel airfoil force measurement.
