Measuring Technique for Micro Rolling Moment in Wind Tunnel Tests

the problem of low measurement precision in measuring micro rolling moment in wind tunnel tests of spinning projectiles is solved, this paper proposes a new type of structural configuration that some gauges are placed inside the model as the internal elements and some gauges are put outside the model as the external elements to minimize the interaction between the force components. The paper performs the design optimization of strain-gauge balance and conducts sensitivity design with finite-element method, successfully developing a set of new-type strain-gauge balance for measuring micro rolling moment in wind tunnel for force measurement tests. The static calibration precision of the balance satisfies the indices stipulated in the national military standard GJB2244A-2011 for strain-gauge balance in wind tunnel tests, the dynamic calibration precision of rolling moment component reaches the advanced index of the Precision Criterion for Calibration Model of Projectile-like Weapons in Wind Tunnel Force Measurement Tests, improving the precision of wind tunnel force measurement for spinning projectiles.
