Attitude Estimation Algorithm for Spin-projectiles Based on Geomagnetic-aided Information

Accurate attitude information is critical to the performance of the spin-projectile control system. This paper presents an attitude estimation algorithm applied to the spin-projectile. The attitude measurement system is composed of the magnetometer, MEMS gyroscope and GPS. The attitude of spin-projectile is accurately estimated by the EKF filtering algorithm. Finally, the 152 mm spin-projectile is selected as the research object. Simulations demonstrate that the estimator can effectively estimate the attitude of the spin-projectile. The results show that the yaw errors, pitch errors and roll errors are 0.806 8 degrees, 0.839 2 degrees and 3. 926 4 degrees respectively.
