Analysis on Development of Typical Infrared Precision Guided Weapons

Abstract

Infrared guidance technology has been used in a variety of precision guided weapons, this paper introduces the development of typical infrared precision-guided weapons in the world, including air-to-air, anti-ship, surface to air, air-to-surface, anti-tank and multi-role missiles etc., involving portable launch, ground vehicles, aircraft and ships and other launch platforms. On the basis of this, the characteristics of the infrared precision guided weapon are summarized and analyzed, and the future development trend in the areas of multi-spectral imaging guidance, multi-mode composite guidance, uncooled infrared guided weapons development, multi-platform multifunctional application, new technology applications like artificial intelligence, as well as modularization, generalization, standardization, seriation development are also put forward.
