Blunt Impact Injury Assessment of 18.4 mm Rubber Projectile Based on Blunt Criterion

Abstract

In carrying out the anti riot and antiterrorism task, the use of anti riot kinetic energy projectile as a low lethal weapon has caused a variety of excessive damage. It is urgent to scientifically predict its injury power and evaluate its actual combat safety. In this paper, based on the corresponding relationship between specific kinetic energy and damage level, the damage levels corresponding to BC values of different subjects for 18. 4 mm rubber projectile is established. Blunt standard is used to analyze the blunt damage to different subjects under different firing ranges, then the damage tolerance curves of different receptors are constructed, the minimum safe firing range is obtained, and the safe use suggestions for practical application are put forward, which can also provide a scientific reference for the damage evaluation of other kinetic energy riot bombs.
