Mathematical Model of Ultrasonic Signal Transmission in Solid Rocket Motor Multilayer Structure

Abstract

In this article, the mechanism of ultrasonic signal transmission in solid rocket motor multilayer structure was studied from the perspective of linear system signal transmission, and a mathematical model of the ultrasonic amplitude spectrum acting perpendicularly to the multilayer structure was derived. Then Matlab software was used in order to obtain the amplitude-frequency and phase- frequency characteristic curve of the multilayer structure. The simulation results show that for a multi-layer structure composed of steel and rubber, the debonding of the first interface can be predicted by using the amplitude-frequency and phase frequency characteristics. If the debonding depth of the second interfaces gradually increases, the corresponding amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics will change slightly.
