Study on Influence of Core Dimensions on Initiation Ability of Anti-missile Armor-piercing Projectile

Abstract

Autodyn-2D was used to simulate the process of armor-piercing projectile shock initiating missile warhead. By calculating different working conditions and changing projectile diameter, length and flat diameter ratio, the influence of the factors above on critical initiation velocity was analyzed. A 220 g armor-piercing projectile core part was designed in dimensions conducive to initiation using analyzing results. The dimensional design result is that the projectile diameter is 16~18 mm, the respecting projectile length is 49.1~62.2 mm.
