The Research of Drag Reduction Characteristics of Grid Fins with Airfoil Profile

Abstract

Utilization of forward-swept and back-swept way can effectively decrease resistance, in order to further solve the disadvantage of large resistance of grid fins, based on aerodynamic characteristics of grid fins, the ordinary grid fins are compared with the gird fins with airfoil profile structure and forward-swept and back-swept structure. By using structured and unstructured gird in modeling, under 0.6 2.0Ma, as the numerical calculation results show that the grid fins with airfoil profile structure have more drag reduction characteristics than the grid fins without airfoil profile structure, the structure with back-swept airfoil profile is better.
