Jet Formation and Penetration Simulation of a V-shaped Top Structure Liner

Abstract

In order to improve the penetration performance of the shaped energy jet, a V-shaped top structure liner was designed based on the cone liner by using a secondary jet phenomenon of the jet, and the jet formation of a V-shaped top structure liner was performed by ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The process of jet penetration into the target was numerically simulated and compared to the cone liner. The results suggest that the jet head velocity formed by the V-shaped liner is about 7.2% higher than that of the cone liner. The jet is not broken, the ductility is good, and the slug is small. The penetration depth of the jet formed by the V-shaped top structure liner is improved by about 16.9%, and the penetration performance is stronger.
