Path Planning for Loitering Munitions Based on Culture Algorithm and Taboo Search

Abstract

An improved algorithm based on culture algorithm and taboo search is designed for path planning in three-dimensional map. The algorithm is mainly constituted by culture algorithm and taboo search, and mutation mechanism and dispersal mechanism from Boids model are added into the algorithm. At the same time, surface with least threat is built to simplify the searching space. Through simulation and comparison, we used the algorithm in off-line and real-time path planning, and confirmed that its computation speed and cost of the result were satisfactory. Furthermore, improvement in its capability of global search and local optimization was remarkable. Therefore, the algorithm has satisfactory performance to solve complex optimization problems.
