Numerical Simulation and Analysis of Abnormal B4C/Al Composite Target

In order to improve the anti-ballistic performance of B4C/Al compound target, LS-DYNA was used to simulate the whole process of 12.7 mm projectile penetrating B4C/Al compound target vertically at the speed of 600 m/s、700 m/s and 800 m/s. The velocity and force of projectile penetrating compound target are studied. The results show that when the projectile penetrates the compound target at speeds of 600 m/s and 700 m/s, the abnormal B4C/Al compound target has better anti-ballistic performance than the ordinary B4C/Al compound target; when the projectile penetrates the compound target at speeds of 800 m/s, the abnormal B4C/Al compound target with triangular front surface has better anti-ballistic performance.
