Study on Fast Cook-off of Free Loading Solid Rocket Motor with Different Charge Gap

In order to study effects of charge gap on fast cook-off response characteristics of free loading solid rocket motor. This study establish 2D cook-off numerical calculation model aiming at motor, and take calculation with different charge gap. The results show that the propellant ignition time prolong with the increase of charge gap size, but the effect is weakened gradually; when the propellant temperature reach about 470 K; when the propellant temperature reach about 615 K, the propellant is ignited; the cook-off location of motor with different size charge gap always in a circular region centered on the edge of the propellant end face.
