Research of Technical Route on Multi-mode Composite Fuze Safety Systems

Abstract

In order to decrease the rate of unexploded cluster munitions, a method using redundancy technology to achieve multi-mode composite fuze (proximity, triggering, time) was presented.In this paper, two kinds of composite fuze technical routes A and B were studied, the reliability model was established and the comprehensive firing rate was simulated using Monte Carlo.The results indicate when the reliability of each module is alike, the fuze's comprehensive function rate of technical route A is above 94%, whereas that of technical route B is more than 99.1%.Obviously, technical route B is significantly better than technical route A and satisfy the requirement of unexploded probability lower than 1%.Therefore multi-mode composite fuze technology route B will prior serve cluster monitions fuze.
