Effect of Strong Maneuver Target on Attacking Area of Long-range Air-to-air Missile

Abstract

In order to study effect of target maneuver on missile effectiveness, strong maneuver type and mathematic model of target were presented firstly. The missile attacking area in environment of strong maneuver target was calculated by the improved dichotomy based on the mathematic model of an air-to-air missile, and the effect of strong maneuver on hit probability of missile under different launch conditions was analyzed. The simulation results indicate the strong maneuver of target can markedly reduce missile head-on attack distance, and the strong maneuver target can avoid missile attack being launched between maximum attack area and non-escaped zone.
